3 Tips That Will Help You Achieve a Flawless Fall Complexion

When the leaves start to become different colors, and the weather finally, and steadily, starts to cool off after a sweltering hot summer, it’s time to revisit your skin care routine. This is important because, as the temperatures plunge and the air gets drier, your skin will lose its moisture quickly.

The road to great skin in the fall begins with an assessment of how well you are exfoliating.

Whether it is the winter, spring, summer or fall, you may find your skin feeling flaky or dry. In fact, if you spent your time swimming in the pool and enjoying the sun, chances are your skin might be damaged. Therefore, if you want to ensure that you are taking the right first step to acquiring that perfect fall complexion, take the time to exfoliate. When you exfoliate, you are removing any dead or damaged skin (which also makes your skin look dry.) Furthermore, consider an oil-based scrub, as they often exfoliate and hydrate!

Once you are done exfoliating, it’s time to rehydrate, hydrate and then hydrate!

As the air continues to get drier throughout October and November, it is important that you keep your skin hydrated (at all times) with a moisturizer. Depending on your skin type, it might also be wise to switch to a heavier moisturizer during the fall. Certain moisturizers and creams have different ingredients, so it is also important to read up on them before you buy. Lastly, choose a moisturizer for your face, and one for the rest of your body. Using one on the other might not give you the results you desire.

Do not pack those sunscreens away just yet.

Even though there is less daylight, it doesn’t mean that you should pack away the sunscreen until the next spring equinox. In fact, you should be using a facial moisturizer with some SPF 15 (at the least) and reapply it as needed, just as you would your daily facial moisturizer.

When it all comes down to it, if you want your skin looking its best during fall, or any other time of the year, it is important to reexamine the skin care products you are using. In the end, some are better to use more than others at certain times of the year.
