How Ultherapy Uses Ultrasound to Give a Nonsurgical Facelift

As we age, we have a lot of things to contend with such as achy joints, loss of hearing, and sight but probably one of the worst is sagging skin. The older we get, the more apparent the loss of firmness and tautness in our skin gets, especially on our face and neck. Our faces are the first thing people notice and so we get very self-conscious over this change in our appearance. This change happens because the production of collagen and elastin, which normally keep our skin firm and smooth, begins to decrease. Normally a surgical facelift is used to rectify the sagging skin and loss of firmness, but not everyone wants to go under the knife.

Dr.Levine is pleased to announce to the people of New York, Ultherapy, her favorite non-invasive treatment for skin tightening. Why is it her favorite? Because it addresses the same layers of skin as a surgical facelift would. Ultherapy is used to tighten the skin around the eyes, cheeks, neck, and mouth, the areas more susceptible to wrinkles and sagging due to movement and aging. Ultherapy uses focused ultrasound waves that target the deep layers of your skin, using focused imaging. The ultherapy device emits heat waves that target that can heal and tighten the skin from beneath the surface. The heat of the ultrasound waves stimulates the production of collagen which allows the skin to look younger and firmer. At the start of the treatment, the treatment is cleansed and marked. The treatment will usually start with the central area of the neck and then move on to other regions.

Ultherapy is perfect for both, rejuvenation and prejuvenation. The treatment benefits both persons who are experiencing sagging skin and persons who want to get ahead of this problem before it occurs. Many of our patients use this treatment to combat the early loss of collagen in their late 20s and early 30s.

The ultimate benefit of Ultherapy is that there is no downtime required, patients can come in for their session which usually lasts an hour and a half, and then return to their daily routine afterward. The results are gradual which makes them seem more natural-looking and believable. Your friends will notice a change in your overall appearance and not think that you’ve had any “work done”. Before treatment, your skin’s condition is assessed and a consultation is done to properly determine how many Ultherapy treatment sessions are needed. Dr. Levine, a double board-certified certified facial plastic surgeon, is known for being one of the best providers of Ultherapy in New York, and she will address each patient’s goals uniquely to determine the best way forward.
