The upper eyelid skin is removed through fine incisions placed in the upper eyelid creases.
The fat is trimmed through the same incision. A fine suture is used to close the skin and is removed four days later. The lower eyelid fat is removed through an incision on the inside of the eyelid, so there is no visible scar. Furthermore, this incision is safest as it leaves the supporting muscles of the eyelid undisturbed. If there is extra skin of the lower eyelid, it is removed through a fine incision in a wrinkle just beneath the eyelashes.

Blepharoplasty, or eyelid surgery, is one of the top performed plastic surgery procedures in New York and across the nation. This is largely because it creates dramatically rejuvenating results.
Because the smallest of changes can impact the results, it is highly recommended to complete this procedure under the care of a board-certified facial plastic surgeon. Her expertise is one of the reasons Dr. Jennifer Levine is sought after for this procedure. She is also well-known for delivering results that look natural and require minimum downtime.
To provide the best experience for her patients, Dr. Levine completes a growing number of New York City blepharoplasty procedures out of the comfort of her office with the patient under local anesthesia. This is safer for the patient and reduces both downtime and cost significantly.

Once your medical history and any other pieces of relevant information have been discussed, Dr. Levine will recommend the best course of action for your specific case. There may be additional procedures that are recommended for you based on your specific goals.
During the initial consultation with Dr. Levine, she will assess all your facial features as well as take down all of your relevant health history. It is important to take a look at how the desired changes will affect the harmony of your face. If any additional procedures would be helpful for your specific case, this is when Dr. Levine would recommend them to you. After your consultation we can schedule your appointment for your blepharoplasty nyc.
Yes, there are a few ways in which you can enhance the effects of the procedure. For example, use of non-surgical treatments such as botox or cosmetic filler to restore a more youthful contour to the face is often opted for by patients. Sometimes at the time of eyelid surgery, patients undergo brow surgery, or a mid-face surgery to achieve optimal results. If you have any questions or concerns about other procedures aside from your blepharoplasty, do not hesitate to ask Dr. Levine during your consultation.
“I am 64 and although people say I look good for my age I was feeling like my eyes always looked very worn out and made me look very tired. My eyes used to be one of my best features and they were looking smaller every year and my eyelids were drooping. It was constantly upsetting me. My mother had to have eyelid surgery to improve her vision and I knew I would probably have to have the surgery sometime in the future as well. I had thought about having eye lid surgery for cosmetic reasons but I was nervous about it. I finally decided to have a consultation with a doctor who was highly recommended by two doctors I know and he was awful. He talked to me for a few minutes, barely looked at me and seemed very distracted. Then he called in his business manager to book my surgery. I was horrified! I did a lot of research and I found Dr. Levine. I was looking for someone to do upper and lower eye lid surgery and it was important to me that they only did facial surgery. I liked Dr. Levine immediately. She was honest, very easy to talk to, and I liked that she believed in only doing what looked natural. She is also double board certified and has great credentials. I felt very comfortable and I knew I could trust her. My surgery was last January and I am beyond thrilled. The procedure and the healing was much easier than I had thought it would be and there was absolutely NO pain…which totally surprised me! Dr. Levine had me come to her office fairly regularly to make sure that I was healing properly and to address any concerns I might have. The outcome is even better than I expected! I am in the performing arts and I see a lot of people through my work. I only told my close friends that I was doing the surgery. The best part is that no one realizes that I even had the surgery done but every week someone has told me how young I look. I am so happy that I found Dr. Levine. She’s wonderful!”
