The Restylane family of fillers consists of Restylane®, Restylane® Silk. Restylane and Restylane-L brings results immediately by adding volume to smooth away wrinkles. It is commonly used for wrinkles around the following areas: – Nasolabial folds – the lines from your nose to the corners of your mouth – Below the nose and above the upper lip – Corners of the mouth – Marionette lines – the area between the corners of your mouth and the jawline Both, Restylane and Restylane-L are formulated to act like your body’s own hyaluronic acid, which is eventually broken down. The difference between the two is the addition of lidocaine, an anaesthetic, in the Restylane-L formulation for added comfort.

Restylane® Silk is the newest addition to the Restylane® family. It contains smaller, smoother particles than the rest of the Restylane® fillers to provide subtle lip enhancement and smooth lines around the mouth.

How long does a treatment take?*

A typical treatment takes 15 – 30 minutes, depending on the areas being treated. Depending on your goals, you may need follow up treatments.

Is it painful?

Restylane-L and Restylane Lift contain lidocaine to keep you comfortable during treatment. Some patients may feel a slight discomfort, depending on their pain threshold. .

How long do the results last?*

Results can last up to a year.

How long is the recovery process?*

Restylane® fillers provide immediate results with no downtime. Immediately after the treatment, you may experience redness, pain, tenderness, swelling, bruising, itching and/or discoloration. These side effects typically last less than 7 days in nasolabial folds and up to 2 weeks in the lips.

Are there any risks?

As with any injection procedure, there is a small risk of infection. We take great care to ensure that this risk is minimized. Any patient with a known allergy to lidocaine should not use Restylane-L or Restylane Lift, however is able to use Restylane®.
