About Skin Boosters
As natural collagen production levels decrease and external factors wear on the skin over time, many patients experience:
- Dullness
- Dryness
- Roughness
- Uneven Texture
- Fine Lines
- Wrinkles
Skin boosters contain several effective ingredients to address all of these concerns and more, reducing wrinkles, plumping the skin, and increasing hydration. Some of the ingredients include:
- Hyaluronic Acid: A deeply hydrating substance that binds with water molecules to immediately plump the skin.
- Vitamin C: Essential for collagen production, skin brightening, and serves as a powerful antioxidant.
- Vitamin E: Deeply moisturizes the skin, reduces inflammation, and protects the skin from environmental damage.
- Vitamin B3: Enhances the skin’s barrier function, regulates oil production, and improves texture.
- Vitamin B5: Promotes skin hydration, reduces fine lines, and heals the skin barrier.
- Vitamin B7: Supports keratin production and promotes a glowing complexion
- Vitamin A: Improves skin texture, reverses signs of aging, and increases cell turnover.
- Vitamin D: Improves the skin’s immunity and skin barrier repairing abilities.
- Vitamin K: Improves blood circulation and helps with skin bruising and hyperpigmentation.
Benefits
Skin boosters have many benefits, including:
- Increased collagen production
- Radiant complexion
- Natural-looking results
- Reduced appearance of fine lines and wrinkles
- Minimal downtime
- Improved skin texture
- Improved long-term skin health
“To be considered truly ‘regenerative,’ a treatment can’t just fill a void – it has to teach the tissue to behave like it did when it was younger. We aren’t just making collagen anymore; we are optimizing the entire cellular environment. Whether it’s through peptides or skin boosters, the goal is to restore the skin’s biological function, not just its appearance,” says Dr. Levine.
Candidates
A patient who is experiencing dull skin, seeking to improve their skin hydration, reduce acne scarring, and boost overall skin health can benefit greatly from this treatment. Individuals with active skin infections, acne, or who are allergic to hyaluronic acid may be recommended for an alternative approach. Pregnant or breastfeeding patients will also need to delay receiving these treatments.
All prospective patients should be in good general health and hold realistic expectations for their results.

Preparation
Preparation for your skin booster treatments may begin about three to seven days in advance. To make sure you achieve the best results possible, Dr. Levine or a member of her team may advise that you take the following steps:
- Limit alcohol consumption
- Cease any nicotine use
- Avoid blood-thinning medications and supplements
- Pause use of any products that can affect your skin’s natural barrier
- Avoid harsh skincare treatments
Procedure
It is vital that you choose an expert for your skin booster treatment. Dr. Levine brings decades of experience specializing in facial procedures and is one of only a few surgeons who are double-board certified by the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and the American Board of Otolaryngology. Her background and high level of recognition showcase her expertise in providing treatments like skin boosters.
On the day of your treatment, please arrive with a freshly washed, lotion-free, and makeup-free face. Dr. Levine and her team will welcome you into your private treatment area and make any necessary guiding markings. These ensure consistent symmetry and accuracy.
Following this, they may apply a topical anesthetic to reduce discomfort, but this is not always necessary.
Your specialist will carefully administer the microinjections into the dermis, approximately 0.5-1 cm apart from one another. They will repeat this process multiple times if necessary.
Recovery
After receiving skin boosters, you will notice an immediate increase in hydration. Temporary redness and tenderness may appear at the injection sites, but these effects will resolve quite quickly—typically within the next day or so.
Skin boosters require essentially no downtime, so you can return to most of your normal activities almost immediately. However, it is best to avoid intense exercise and excessive sun exposure for at least 24 hours after treatment.
Results
Although you will see some improvements almost instantly, your results will continue to refine over the course of several months.
Your skin’s hydration and texture will continue to improve over the span of two to four weeks.
Two weeks after your injections, hydration and collagen will continue to increase, leading to improved skin elasticity, reduced fine lines, and a more vibrant complexion.
By the sixth week, collagen stimulation will reach its peak, your skin texture may feel firmer, and your complexion will look even more youthful.
While patients are often happy with their results after one session, most patients schedule two to three initial sessions spaced about four weeks apart to help them achieve optimal long-lasting results.
Skin booster results have been reported to last as long as nine months. Many of our patients schedule maintenance treatments once or twice a year after they are through with their initial sessions to maintain their glow over time.
“With the rise of GLP-1 weight loss medications, we are seeing a new phenotype of aging characterized by rapid volume loss and elasticity changes. You cannot simply reinflate these patients with filler. We have to take a 4-dimensional approach: restoring the muscle foundation with EMFACE, tightening the deep tissue with Ultherapy, and then polishing the surface quality with hydration boosters,” says Dr. Levine.
Corresponding Procedures
Ultherapy PRIME
Ultherapy PRIME utilizes ultrasound technology to effectively ‘lift’ the face. Ultherapy PRIME provides deeper rejuvenation than superficial laser treatments. This non-surgical skin-tightening procedure targets the foundational layers, the superficial musculoaponeurotic system (SMAS), and the platysma, the muscle in the neck that extends to the lower face. As Ultherapy PRIME tightens skin and muscles, a skin booster can enhance these results by increasing hydration and collagen production.
EMFACE
EMFACE is another non-surgical treatment that rejuvenates the face by targeting the skin and facial muscles. It combines synchronized radiofrequency energy to stimulate collagen and elastin production in the skin with High-Intensity Facial Electrical Stimulation (HIFES) to tone and strengthen facial muscles. Skin boosters can enhance this treatment by further reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
EVOKE
EVOKE uses heat via powerful bipolar radiofrequency (RF) energy to stimulate collagen production and deliver structural remodeling to the facial and submental tissues. When combining EVOKE with skin boosters, your skin can look tighter and more youthful.
