About MOXI™
MOXI™ gently targets early signs of skin damage and aging, improves uneven tone, and addresses uneven pigmentation to rejuvenate the skin without the extended recovery downtime of resurfacing treatments. It is a gentle, non-invasive 1927-nanometer fractional, non-ablative laser that simulates the body’s natural healing response for skin-renewing effects.
Moxi delivers controlled fractional light energy to thousands of microscopic zones to promote collagen production and cell turnover while leaving the healthy tissues intact for faster healing. The 1927nm wavelength of light targets water in the skin so it does not vaporize or remove surface skin in the way that ablative lasers do. (1) The controlled non-ablative energy means Moxi is minimally-invasive and safe on all skin tones. Patients enjoy less discomfort during treatment, accelerated recoveries with shorter downtime, and less risk of adverse effects than with other lasers. (2)
Moxi treatment intensity can be adjusted to treat a wide range of skin concerns, providing everything from a light skin refresh to a more intensive skin rejuvenation. It preserves the skin’s healthy, youthful radiance as a preventative measure against the effects of aging.

Preparation
You will receive specific instructions ahead of your MOXI™ laser treatment. Preparations typically begin a few days to a couple of weeks ahead of your appointment, depending on your current skincare routine. You may be asked to pause the use of retinoids, exfoliating products, and other potentially irritating skincare products. You should avoid excessive sun exposure and tanning right before your appointment. For treatment, arrive clean-faced with skin clear of makeup, lotions, and sunscreen.
Procedure
The MOXI™ treatment process is easy and stress-free. It begins by cleansing the skin. A topical numbing cream may be applied for added comfort. Dr. Levine will precisely guide the Moxi applicator across the treatment area to deliver the fractional laser energy in a series of passes.
Moxi treatment is mild and well-tolerated and patients often describe it as feeling a warm, prickling sensation. The entire treatment session, including preparations, typically takes 45 minutes to an hour.
Recovery
Recovery after MOXI™ laser treatment is generally mild with a quick downtime. Initially after treatment, redness, warmth, and swelling is common and subsides quickly. Tiny, dark spots known as “MENDs” (microscopic epidermal necrotic debris) may appear as the skin begins to renew itself. They are a sign that the restorative effects are working as the skin pushes out deep pigments and trapped debris. MENDs will darken and flake away in three to five days, revealing smoother, fresher skin.
Most patients return to their normal activities quickly, and makeup is usually permitted after 24 hours. After treatment, use a gentle cleanser, soothing moisturizer, and mineral sunscreen to support the skin as it heals. Avoid direct sun exposure, irritating skincare treatments, and scrubbing the skin harshly for best results. You will be provided with individual aftercare instructions specific to your treatment.
Results
Your brighter, fresher complexion will begin appearing within five to seven days as the initial redness subsides. Visible improvements will increase over the course of the next few weeks as collagen production continues and the skin renews itself. Improvements in pigmentation and skin tone and texture will be fully visible around the one month mark. For a comprehensive correction, most patients complete a series of three to four sessions spaced four to six weeks apart. After treatment is finished, occasional maintenance sessions can help preserve results.
Corresponding Procedures
MOXI™ can be used alone or layered in combination with other aesthetic treatments to address multiple skin concerns and amplify results. We will discuss what the appropriate combination of treatments will achieve your desired outcomes and provide comprehensive skin rejuvenation during your personal consultation. Moxi refines the skin’s texture and boosts collagen production for fresh, healthy skin and can be paired with:
BBL®-HEROic™
BBL-HEROic uses broadband light high energy rapid output pulses to clear discoloration, redness, and sun damage. Combining creates effective dual improvements, BBL-HEROic improves skin discoloration and tone while Moxi renews skin texture. The combination more effectively treats hyperpigmentation than either treatment can on its own. (3)
HALO®TRIBRID™
HALO® TRIBRID™ is a triple wavelength laser that combines ablative and non-ablative wavelengths to address more pronounced skin issues. Paired together for synergistic effects, Halo Tribrid provides intensive restoration deep within the skin while Moxi enhances the surface of the skin.
RF Microneedling
RF Microneedling creates controlled micro-injuries with tiny microneedles to stimulate natural healing and pulses radiofrequency (RF) energy that tightens deep skin layers. Pairing with Moxi to rejuvenate and brighten the outer skin layers creates a complete revitalization of the skin.
Surgical Enhancements
For a more significant transformation, Moxi can be layered with a variety of cosmetic surgical procedures. Lifts, implants, and augmentations can address the structural issues and Moxi will refresh the skin for complete facial enhancement.

FAQ
What is MOXI™?
Moxi is an innovative laser treatment that uses non-ablative laser energy to correct early signs of sun damage, uneven skin tone, and aging for a glowing complexion with minimal downtime.
How long does treatment take?
Each Moxi treatment session takes about 45 minutes to an hour.
How many Moxi treatments do I need?
The exact number of treatment sessions will vary depending on the size of the area you are correcting and your target concerns. Typically for optimal results, patients complete a series of three to four sessions, spaced about four to six weeks apart.
How long until I see the results of Moxi?
Skin will look brighter and clearer in the first week and fully visible within two to four weeks.
Can Moxi treat darker skin tones?
The Moxi laser targets water instead of melanin so it can treat all skin types, including dark and melanin-dense skin.
What is a non-ablative fractional laser?
A non-ablative fractional laser uses gentle focused light energy to boost collagen production deep within the skin’s layers without damaging the skin’s surface for minimal downtime. Non-ablative means that Moxi treats the layers deep below the skin’s surface while the top layer of skin stays undamaged. Moxi’s fractional laser beam splits the focused light into thousands of microscopic beams to treat a small amount of the skin at a time to preserve the healthy skin untouched.
Does Moxi laser treatment hurt?
Moxi applies gentle light energy and is generally well-tolerated. Patients describe the feeling as a warm, prickly sensation. Topical numbing cream is sometimes used to enhance patient comfort in treating larger areas.
